On South Africa by Young South Africans Recent happenings
Being a young person in South Africa has never been easy and with changing times and attitudes young peoples views are important as we are the ones who will take Nelson Mandela's dream and make them work practically. African people are neighbourly by nature and our belief in sharing is inbred, so come on in and share the written word.

Johannesburg is holding the World Summit on Sustainable Development in August. It is billed as the largest gathering of heads of state in history. About 60 000 delegates are expected to visit our country. Hopefully they will leave with a positive view of South Africa and discard the ideas they've gathered from TV.

South Where?
Dumelang and thanks for visiting my site. The main aim of this site is to share my beautiful country with you through photos and poetry. I am no marketing agent and am not marketing South Africa, like every other country we are a country with flaws but we are more than a little place at the bottom of the world.

This site highlights the negative aspects as well as the positive. Hopefully I can enlighten someone out there on what Africa really is. I obviously can't tell the full story and have provided links to other sites that I found very helpful and interesting. I hope you leave feeling like you've learned something.

I am no expert and all criticisms and ideas are very welcome, in Africa we believe in sharing so please share your views with me. Send me any poems and photos you think will enhance this site.

Welcome to my world...

The flag of the Republic of South Africa The Rainbow Nation: South Africa's National Flag

Thats our flag. It was meant to be a temporary flag after the 1994 elections but we loved it so much and the world accepted it so well that it's now a permanent feature of South Africa. A rainbow flag for the rainbow people.
